Local Church Connection
Portland Bible College continues to be hosted by City Bible Church.
The local church provides the ideal context for this kind of “hands-on” learning. This translates the “theory” of the classroom into meaningful practical application. This collaboration creates a unique opportunity for students to get hands on experience in multiple ministries of the church. Students receive 1-2 college credits every semester by spending 30-60 hours a week in a local church ministry. These practical experience credits are required for graduation.
The ministry staff of CBC has a great heart to see PBC students equipped and released in ministry. Care is taken to place students into areas of interest and calling for their practicum requirements. With four different campuses around the Portland Metro area, there are more than enough practicum opportunities for students. All students are expected to serve in their own local church unless they are geographically too distant, in which case they are integrated into City Bible Church for this part of their program.
