Getting In
Thank you for your interest in applying to Portland Bible College. Almost all of the Application Process for PBC can be completed online! Here is some of the information we will need to collect from you.
FULL - TIME STUDENTS
To take courses at Portland Bible College, you must first be accepted as a student. To be accepted into PBC you will need the following information:
1. Start the application process online. You will receive an email, after you fill out the initial application information, enabling you to set-up a username and password. Continue filling out the rest of the application. Please note it will be extremely helpful for you to have the following items available:
- A valid e-mail address that you check frequently
- Names and dates of all high schools and colleges attended
- Social security number
- A current picture of self (head shot only) ready to upload to application file
- Have read and understood the Statement of Faith (Doctrinal Statement)
- Have previously reviewed the Student Handbook (both of these items located at bottom of this page)
2. Print up parental, pastoral and personal reference forms provided within the online application file. Give each reference to the appropriate individuals asking them to notify you when completed. Ask them to mail or fax 503-889-5612 the reference form(s) to the Admissions office address found on the bottom of the reference page. A second option would be for the individual to put the completed reference in a sealed envelope, sign the back flap and give back to you to send directly to us.
3. Request official transcripts from high school you attended. These official transcripts must reflect your high school graduation date. If you did not graduate from high school please arrange for a copy of your GED to be sent to us.
4. Submit a $35 non-refundable application fee by mail or drop off at the school.
Only completed applications will be processed and reviewed. Once the completed application has been processed you will be notified by the Admissions office. It is critical that you be as accurate and complete as you can when filling out the application. Mistakes or omissions will likely delay the processing of your application. Feel free to contact the Admissions coordinator at any time concerning the status of your application file.

ONLINE STUDENTS
These students come together from all over the world to share particpate in the PBC Online Classroom. To take online courses at Portland Bible College, you must first be accepted as a student. To be accepted into Portland Bible, you will need the following informations

- Have read and understood the Statement of Faith (Doctrinal Statement) (This is located at bottom of this page)
2. Please request official transcripts from any colleges and/or highschools previously attended
3. If working towards a degree and/or are taking 12 credits at PBC, please print up the pastoral reference found in the online application file and give to your pastor requesting him/her to fill out and notify you when completed. Ask your pastor to mail or fax the reference form(s) to the Admissions office address found on the bottom of the reference page. A second option would be for your pastor to put the completed reference in a sealed envelope, sign the back flap and give back to you to send directly to us.
4. Submit a $35 non-refundable application fee by mail or drop off at the school.

PART TIME STUDENTS

2. If working towards a degree and/or hoping to transfer credits in please request official transcripts from any colleges and/or highschools attended.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Most of the international students at Portland Bible College have F-1 visas. If you are a US citizen, permanent resident (green card holder), or have asylum or refugee status you are not considered an international student. For more information please see our International Student Page before applying.

3. Request that your official transcripts be sent to us from the college or colleges you have attended. If you received less than a full semesters worth of credits you will need to request your high school transcript as well.
4. Submit a $35 application fee by mail.
5. Have your financial sponsor complete the Statement of Financial Responsibility form and attach a copy of the sponsor's bank statement dates within 90 days of the application date. If you are paying for yourself, a copy of your bank statement must be attached. NOTICE: Money must be stated in U.S. dollars. Account information will need to be translated into English and U.S. dollars.
6. All non-native speakers of English are required to show evidence of their English fluency level by submitting a copy of a TOEFL score taken withing six months of their application date of by writing for our test.
Your file must be complete with ALL of the required information before your application can be processed. It is important that the reference sheets and transcripts be sent promptly in order to process your application. When our admissions office has recieved all these items, your application will be reviewd and you will be notified of their action.

READMIT STUDENTS
You do not need to fill out the application form again. Here is the process you will need to follow.
1. Give a pastoral reference form to your pastor to update. Ask him/her to notify you when completed and to mail the reference form to the Admissions office address found on the bottom of the reference page.
2. Submit a new $35 non-refundable application fee.
3. Request official transcripts to be sent to us from any school you may have attended while away.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
