Student Life
Dedication to their studies is a very important part of life for the PBC student. But there is so much more than homework in the Portland Bible College Experience. Conferences, Ministries & Student led events are just a few of the things that help keep our students active.
Spiritual Goals
PBC is constructed to be a place where personal and spiritual growth is accelerated. It is intended for people who are serious about becoming Christ-like, self-disciplined and effective in their calling. Comfort and ease are not valued as highly as change and growth. It is assumed that a student entering PBC is deeply committed to personal and spiritual growth and will view all instruments of this process to be allies in this pursuit. Equally as important as an individual walk with God is a person’s ability to flow together with other believers in the Body of Christ. PBC provides a variety of organized opportunities to foster spiritual experience. Friday chapel services are spiritually intense times of worship, prayer and ministry and often allow plenty of room for the moving of the Holy Spirit. Most courses incorporate prayer and worship into the class times. There are a variety of other prayer times on campus that are student led. All full-time students are required to attend chapels. Part-time students are also strongly encouraged to attend as their schedule permits.
Campus Life
Campus life is a significant part of the college experience. Most people will walk away from PBC with lifelong friendships established over the many fun events and spiritual moments that can be gathered from PBC's campus life. With events ranging from Dorm Warm to Ultimate Frisbee, Spirit week to Gallery nights, PBC students know how to have a good time. But, with Friday Chapels and student let All Prayer Nights, PBC's campus life is not only fun, but spiritually encouraging. PBC has worked hard to maintain and atmosphere where students can develop relationships that support and encourage what God is doing in their lives.

Dorm Life
Living on campus at PBC generates an opportunity for depth in which the students themselves often refer to as the “green-house effect.” Becoming immersed in rich soil surrounded by others with the similar hearts and minds can cause rapid growth for those who give themselves to the process. Campus housing is provided not just for student convenience, but primarily as an instrument to assist student development. Living in community provides unique opportunity for accelerated growth in character as well as social and leadership skills. A student’s dorm experience is brings one of the most long term impacting aspect of the PBC experience. Life-long friendships are developed through the tools of critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution as Biblical relationship principles are put into practice.

Student Leadership
We hold a strong value of peer led leadership. At the end of each semester a survey is taken where students are anonymously asked to express who they feel out of their peers could lead them. The faculty takes time to examine the survey results and prayerfully consider the suggested names. Along with leadership abilities, academic and financial prudence is also considered. We’re not looking for perfection, but rather students who have a willing heart to model moving in the right direction.

Enjoying Portland
During their free time, students will not have to worry about being bored. Portland has a wide variety of ways to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. Whether the student is seeking a day at the beach or an afternoon at the mall, the educational experience of OMSI or the simple joys in a latte, Portland had something for every personality.
