PBC Graduation 029.jpgGod has given us an incredible year. From the fall retreat in August to the snow storm in December to graduation in May, this has been an exciting year. PBC Commencement on Friday evening was very special for the students, their families and the PBC family.

Commencement opened with a the Processional of the Faculty and Graduates followed by a word of welcome by our Dean, Ken Malmin and a prayer by our Founder, Dick Iverson. The Worship Department led everyone in a time of dynamic worship and even in cap and gown, the PBC students worshiped with all their heart.

The Associates Degree’s were then presented by our President, Dr. Frank Damazio and Dean, Ken Malmin. The Dean addressed the students and presented PBC’s annual awards to 4 of the Seniors. Kim-Maree Roberts, Christopher Hubbard, & Shalane Wellard received The Founders Award. Mitsuru Miyahira received The Maria Swanson Award.

Bachelor Degree's were presented by the President and the Dean. Each student glowed with joy as their name was called to receive what they had striven 4 years to receive. In all, 56 degrees were given on Friday Night.

Two student addresses were given. Kaeli Allen thanked the parents for their prayers and support & Dylan Jones thanked the Faculty for their dedication and impartation to the students.

PBC Graduation 114.jpgDr. Frank Damazio, then presented the rods to the 4 year graduates. The distribution of Aaron’s Rod at graduation has been a tradition for several year and is anticipated by the students from their Freshman year. It is a symbol of the anointing and fruitfulness we see in their lives and believe for their futures.

The Faculty gathered around the graduates and prayed blessing and impartation on each of them. After this, Ken Malmin presented the Portland Bible College Class of 2009.
