About the Program
Portland Bible College Basketball Program is part of the National Christian Collegiate Athletics Assocation (NCCAA) and the Pacific Coast Athletics Conference (PCAC). Our team competes with NCAA, NAIA, and NCCAA institutions.
We have had 12 All-Conference players and five All-American award winners while qualifying for the national tournament five of past six seasons.
Mike Arnold, Head Coach:
Mike is a 1998 Truman State University graduate with a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology in 1988. He completed his Ed.S in 1994 with a year long internship at the University of Portland in Athletic Administration. Coach Arnold has coached at every level, from elementary school to NCAA Division I. Additionally, he has done speed and strength work with the Portland Trailblazers and their rookies. His most recent teams won over 71 % of their games and his graduation/transfer rate was over 92%. Coach Arnold has been selected as 'Coach of the Year' 3 times. He serves as a division chair in HPE at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. In 2013 he was honored with the Exceptional Faculty Award.
Mike and his wife Cindy served as youth pastors in a missionary church in Alaska for three years and both have felt called into education as their mission field. The have two daughters, McKenzie Rae (16) and Maggie Rose (15) and attend City Bible Church.

Travis Garrison, Assistant Coach:
Coach Garrison grew up in the Northwest then attended Clark College where he played for coach Arnold, and he graduated in 2010. Recruited to Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. He started as a senior. After graduating with a BS degree in Sports Management, he spent a year working for a AAA baseball team and then worked with the Dallas Mavericks D-League franchise the Texas Legends in Frisco, Texas. He soon realized his desire was to coach and mentor young men through basketball. When he received the offer to join his previous coach on the sidelines, he jumped at the chance to become a part of the staff at Portland Bible College.
Travis is passionate about teaching young men how to be successful in life, build lasting relationships, and represent Christ in all facets of life, especially during competition.
