Imagine graduating debt-free!

At PBC, we are deeply committed to transforming your educational aspirations into reality without leaving you in debt for decades to come.

How can we do this?

Firstly, thanks to the generous support of Mannahouse, we are able to maintain highly affordable tuition rates, setting us apart from most other colleges and universities.

Secondly, our thoughtfully designed class and fee schedules are structured to empower students to work their way through school while pursuing their studies. Remarkably, over 91% of our students successfully graduate without any debt!

Most of our students are able to secure part-time employment opportunities in the Portland area, allowing them to attend classes until noon and then work during the afternoons or evenings. Some even take advantage of shared commuting arrangements, while others utilize the convenience of the nearby city bus line, which conveniently passes within a block of our campus.

We have also worked hard over the years to limit our tuition increases, as you can see in the graph below:

Withdrawal and Refunds

At PBC, we understand the importance of transparent financial processes. To ensure clarity regarding refunds, we have outlined the following policies:

Portland Campus Refund Policy

At PBC, we understand that circumstances may arise where a student needs to withdraw from their enrolled courses. In such cases, we have established this refund policy to ensure fair and transparent financial arrangements.

  1. Students whose accounts are paid in full at the time of enrollment are eligible for refunds as per the schedule provided below.
  2. For students with an outstanding balance on their account, any refundable amount will first be applied as a credit towards the outstanding balance owed.
  3. In cases where a credit balance remains on the student’s account after applying any applicable refunds and credits, a refund will be issued.
  4. If the credits applied do not fully cover the outstanding balance, it is the student’s responsibility to settle the remaining amount by the end of the semester. Failure to do so may result in collection efforts being initiated.
  5. Fees are non-refundable and will not be included in the refund process.

Please refer to the table below for a breakdown of the refund percentages based on the timing of the withdrawal:

Weeks of WithdrawalTuition Refund/Credit
1st and 2nd weeks80%
3rd and 4th weeks60%
5th and 6th weeks40%
7th and 8th weeks20%
After 8th weekNo refund/credit

It is important to note that the refund or credit applies only to the tuition portion of the fees. For students who have paid their entire balance in full upfront, a prorated refund will be issued based on the withdrawal timing. For students on a payment plan, a prorated credit will be applied accordingly.

Additionally, room and board fees are prorated on a weekly basis, considering that a typical semester spans 16 weeks. Please note that room and board fees are all-inclusive, and no discounts are given for non-utilization of meal services.

Should you have any further questions or require clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Finance Office.
